The infographic below provides a basic overview of the difference between cloud computing and the traditional computer to back up your data.
One of the most obvious differences is that equipment failure or failure of your hard drive will usually mean the loss of all your data – while data stored on cloud is not linked to local equipment failure and is therefore much more secure.
In terms of applications, you only need to install one Gateway application to have access to the range of applications available on cloud. Cloud computing is also more efficient in terms of the replacement of older components on computers – which is not necessary in a cloud environment. Of course one of the main advantages of using cloud is that you can access your data and resources from anywhere and using any device such as your mobile phone, which makes it much more flexible than traditional computing.
